Leading equestrian surface manufacturer, Martin Collins Australia a subsidiary of Martin Collins Enterprises have just been appointed as the contractor for development of Ballarat Racecourse's new synthetic racetrack.
Polytrack surfaces are used as racecourse and training track surfaces around the world. In Australia, Martin Collins has installed Polytrack courses at Caulfield, Mornington, Canterbury Park, Hawkesbury, Pakenham and Godolphin's Osbourne Park, and they are currently replacing Royal Randwick's dirt course.
Ballarat wanted to ensure that the quality, safety and durability of the surface was a top priority, hence making the decision to use BHA approved Martin Collins Polytrack™.
"The Polytrack is the next step in the ongoing growth and improvement of our Training Centre and will further improve what is already one of the leading training centres in Australia," Ballarat Turf Club CEO Lachlan McKenzie explained.
"We are thrilled to have Martin Collins Australia installing a Polytrack here at Sportsbet-Ballarat. Martin Collins and the Polytrack surface are proven globally. Martin Collins is the leading provider of synthetic racing and training surfaces," McKenzie added.
"The new Polytrack will not only provide for all weather racing, it will be a major development for our trainers."
